Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

I'm always trying new things but these are the tools that I've been using for a while now and my opinion on them.

Workstation

  • 16” Victus 15, 24GB RAM, RTX 2050

I've been using the Victus 15 for a while now and it's been great. The battery life is slightly off but the performance is more than enough for my needs. I'm not sure I'd recommend it for everyone but it's been a great machine for me.

  • Macbook Pro 15

I use this machine when I'm on the go or need to do some light work. The build quality is amazing and the performance is more than enough for my needs.

  • Zero Headphones

I've tried a lot of headphones over the years and these are the best I've found. They're comfortable enough to wear all day, sound great, and the battery life is amazing.

Development tools

  • VS Code

I've tried a lot of editors over the years but I always come back to VS Code. The ecosystem is just too good to pass up.

  • MobaxTerm

The best terminal emulator for Windows. I use it every day for SSH connections and local terminal sessions.

  • Workbench & PgAdmin

I'm not sure how I ever lived without Workbench & PgAdmin. They're like the missing pieces of the puzzle for me when it comes to managing my databases.

  • Misc.

Slack, Portainer, Claude Code, Postman, Docker and a bunch of other tools that I use every day but don't have much to say about. They're just part of my workflow.

Design

  • Figma

We started using Figma as just a design tool but it's become so much more for us. It's like the glue that holds our entire design system together and makes it easy for us to collaborate.

Productivity

  • Jira

I know, I know. Jira is the worst. But it works for us and we've been able to make it work for us. I'm not sure I'd recommend it to anyone else.

  • TickTick

TickTick is like the Swiss Army knife of productivity tools. I use it for everything from managing my daily tasks to keeping track of my current goals.

  • Cal

Great calendar app that I've been using for a while now. It's got a great scheduling system and the design is top notch.

  • Focus

Simple tool for blocking distracting websites when I need to just do the work and get some momentum going.
